Located in West End Negril atop a 35-foot cliff, Rick’s Café is the hottest chill spot in the West End area. Rick’s Café was opened by its founder Mr. Richard Hershman, in April 1974.  The location was originally owned by a local doctor who was the son of the first Governor General of independent Jamaica.

It’s the first public bar and restaurant on the West End Cliff and offered an alternative to the famous Negril Seven Miles Beach. Also, it’s a popular bar and restaurant that attract a lot of visitors both locally and internationally, mostly because of the excitement and exhilarating rush of watching cliff divers performing all types of acrobatics.  

Whenever you visit Rick’s Café you will be so enchanted by the ambiance that is present, that you just immediately lose yourself in the great vibes. At first, some persons rather look on and admire the divers performing but after having a drink or two their courage is built up and they eventually join in on the activity.  

If you have decided to just watch the spectacular performances by the divers, you can enjoy it from either the rooftop bar, the cliff side bar, whilst lounging on the cliff side or from any of the strategically placed tables; while sipping on cocktails or a cold Red Stripe beer. The menu list offers a wide variety of both local and international cuisines. Importantly, ensure that you have enough cash when visiting Rick’s Café because it can be a bit pricey.

After enjoying the diving extravaganza or swimming the day away, get your cameras or phones ready and select your spot because the best activity of the day will happen about 5:30 pm and this is watching the sunset on the beautiful beach. The sound of the band playing one of Bob Marley’s greatest hits is usually the cue to the start of this breathtaking experience.
